Shires Hanging Cheek Waterford. The Waterford Snaffle is a multiple jointed bit with a chain type mouthpiece that has ball shaped links. As the Waterford mouthpiece has many links, it is considered a severe bit as the pressure is distributed over the tongue and bars of the mouth. The Waterford Snaffle is ideal for horses who try to lean or pull on the bit; the bit is fully moveable and collapses if the horse tries to lean on it.
