Korsteel French Link 3 Ring Dutch Gag. The Dutch Gag is a double jointed bit that acts on the tongue and the bars of the mouth. The French Link eliminates the nutcracker and palate action of a single jointed bit and instead applies pressure to the horses tongue. The Dutch Gag uses a lever action which raises the bit in the horse's mouth and helps the rider to maintain control of the horse. Poll pressure is also applied when the reins are placed on the lower ring. The Dutch Gag is more severe than the 2 ring gag as it offers more leverage on the horse's mouth.
